The Italian club decided to extend the contract of the international power forward

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

The club from northern Italy has grown quite lot during recent years. Last season they made it to the Serie A finals and now they are the top of the standings of the league, while they play for the first time in the second stage of Eurocup, having good chances to advance in the best 16 of the competition.

It is not surprising to see that the team makes the necessary moves in order to keep the players that had an impact in the above achievements. And Achille Polonara is simply one of the best players that the Italians have in their ranks, averaging 10 points and 7 rebounds in Eurocup, while scoring 10 points, grabbing 6 rebounds and blocking the ball once per game in Serie A.

Reggio Emilia announced a change in the contract terms of the international Italian power forward. Not only it is extended, until June 30 of 2017 but, more importantly, all exit clauses from both sides were deleted.  “It is an agreement that shows how much Achille believes in the team” said Alessandro Frosini, Sports Director of the club.

The player himself is pleased with this outcome, as well. “I really wanted to continue in the path of the team. One that is giving me great satisfaction. I want to thank the management of the club, and particularly the president, Maria Licia Ferrarini, for their confidence. I hope to continue our growth in Italy and Europe”.
