A new era for basketball in Thessaloniki may be on the horizon, as Aris BC has announced interest from an investment fund in acquiring the company’s majority stake.
At the moment, however, no other information has been announced, and the club asked for discretion.
“ARIS Midea CJSC and ARIS AS, as the sole shareholders of ARIS through the trustees, inform that an international investment organization focusing on the sports sector has expressed serious interest in acquiring a majority stake in the company,” the press release opened.
“At this stage, an exclusivity and confidentiality agreement has been signed, and the process of auditing the OEM by certified accountants has begun. We would kindly ask our team’s fans, the media, and other interested parties to respect the process and discretion required at this time.”
“OEM ARIS Midea and AS ARIS are committed to communicating any developments as soon as possible,” the club’s statement concludes.
Aris BC have played in the last two editions of the BKT EuroCup, reaching the Eight-Finals in 2023-24. This season, the yellow side from Thessaloniki finished 8th in the Greek Basket League.
