The competitive landscape of the upcoming 2026-27 BKT EuroCup season shifted on Sunday as two prominent clubs finalized major roster moves, with ratiopharm Ulm picking up guard Jaylen Sims and Bahcesehir Koleji extending power forward Tyler Cavanaugh.
Ulm’s acquisition of Sims, a recently crowned NBA G League champion, brings significant size and athleticism to their backcourt. The 27-year-old guard joins the German club following a stellar campaign with the Greensboro Swarm, where he averaged 16.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game to lead the team to a title.
“I’m incredibly excited to be playing for Ulm,” said Sims, a former UNC Wilmington standout. “I can’t wait to play in front of these amazing fans. When I watched videos of the home games, the fantastic atmosphere in the ratiopharm arena was almost palpable. My goal is to contribute to this special atmosphere and culture.”

Meanwhile, Bahcesehir secured a two-year contract extension for team captain Cavanaugh, confirming a Eurohoops report from late May. The extension ensures the 32-year-old veteran remains in Istanbul, where he has established himself as an indispensable frontcourt anchor. The 2.06-meter forward was pivotal in propelling the Turkish team to consecutive semifinal appearances, averaging 11.3 points and 5.3 rebounds across 20 EuroCup games last season.
Cavanaugh’s extensive international resume includes 63 EuroLeague appearances alongside domestic league championships in Germany and Lithuania. His presence provides elite floor-spacing, locker room leadership, and veteran composure under pressure. Before his European career, Cavanaugh played 50 NBA games split between the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz.
