Newly established Maxima Roma announced the signing of Brynton Lemar for the 2026–27 season on Friday, bolstering their backcourt with an experienced, versatile guard.
The 31-year-old San Diego native arrives in the Italian capital following two standout seasons in the BKT EuroCup, where he made 35 appearances representing Besiktas Gain and Cedevita Olimpija. This move marks Lemar’s third consecutive year competing in the second tier of Euroleague Basketball.
His professional journey began in 2017 after a stellar collegiate career at UC Davis. He quickly established himself overseas, finding notable success in the Italian Serie A during the 2020–21 season with UnaHotels Reggio Emilia. His European resume spans top clubs like Le Mans, AEK, Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem, and Cedevita Olimpija, where he captured several domestic titles, including Slovenia’s Liga OTP banka championship. Most recently, Lemar suited up for Beşiktaş, helping propel the Istanbul-based squad to both the EuroCup and Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Finals.

The dangerous three-point shooter and playmaker joins a promising roster led by coach Matteo Cotelli, alongside previously confirmed talents Matt Ryan, Xavier Moon, and Miro Bilan.
Roma will launch their continental campaign on September 30, hosting U-BT Cluj-Napoca in Group D action at the PalaEUR.
