La Laguna Tenerife has signed Arturs Kurucs to a one-year contract. The 26-year-old Latvian guard arrives after spending the last season and a half with Rio Breogan, where he averaged 5.9 points and 2.0 rebounds across 34 Spanish League appearances in 2025-26.
Kurucs previously made 70 EuroLeague appearances for Baskonia between 2020 and 2023. The 1.93-meter guard has also represented UCAM Murcia, Promitheas Patras and VEF Riga, and is now set to make his BKT EuroCup debut with Tenerife.
Riga Zelli has added Klavs Cavars, bringing the Latvian center back to his home country for the first time since 2019. The 30-year-old joins the club after two seasons with Sabah, averaging 7.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 blocks in six Basketball Champions League games last season. The length of his contract was not disclosed.
Cavars previously played in Japan, Poland, Belarus and Turkey, as well as for several Latvian clubs. During the 2024-25 FIBA Europe Cup, he set a competition single-game record with eight blocks. Like Kurucs, the 2.08-meter big man will make his BKT EuroCup debut this season.
