Chris Mullin and Bryan Colangelo have been officially added to the advisory board of BC Roma SPQR, often referred to as BC Roma.
Their appointments were announced on Wednesday.
Per the press release: “BC Roma SPQR today announced that Bryan Colangelo and Chris Mullin will join the Club’s Advisory Board, adding two highly respected figures from American basketball to a group that brings together experience from both sides of the Atlantic. The Club continues to build a project designed to connect Rome with the highest levels of the global game.
Colangelo and Mullin will join Valerio Bianchini, Honorary President of BC Roma SPQR, and Sergio Scariolo, Special Advisor for Basketball Strategy, as the Club continues to build the foundations of its sporting and organization project.
The Advisory Board will provide strategic counsel to the Club’s leadership on roster construction, talent identification, organization development, and coaching philosophy, drawing on extensive experience across the NBA, international basketball, team building, player development and basketball operations.”
In addition to bringing in the Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer and a two-time NBA Executive of the Year, the club is reportedly targeting legendary head coach Mike D’Antoni for its Board of Directors.
Backed by NBA superstar Luka Doncic and led by head coach Alessandro Magro, the newly formed capital city franchise is preparing for its debut in both the BKT EuroCup and Italy’s LBA UnipolSai for the 2026–27 season. The historic journey begins in late September, with the team opening its domestic and continental campaigns against Nutribullet Treviso on September 26 and Bahcesehir Koleji on September 30.
