Late reinforcements are reshaping the field of the upcoming 2026–27 BKT EuroCup Regular Season as clubs rapidly adjust their rosters.
After being forced into sudden action following an unfortunate injury to Sir’Jabari Rice, who suffered a compound fracture of the fifth metatarsal, Umana Reyer Venice secured the services of former NBA and EuroLeague player Erick Green on Friday. The 35-year-old combo guard also brings 25 games of EuroCup experience and a deep familiarity with Italian basketball back to the squad. Head coach Neven Spahija will integrate him into a Group B roster that additionally features Enoch Boakye, Ky Bowman, Leo Candi, Giovanni De Nicolao, Sasha Grant, Giga Janelidze, Octavio Maretto, Louis Olinde, Jordan Parks, Amedeo Tessitori, Glynn Watson Jr., and Kyle Wiltjer.
On Wednesday, Bulgarian NBL champions Balkan Botevgrad completed their own roster adjustments heading to Group D. The club welcomed back Martin Sotirov, whose 2.01-meter frame provides head coach Bogdan Karaicic with valuable size and continuity. The 26-year-old winger enters the depth chart with Ivan Alipiev, Gael Bonilla, Ulrich Chomche, Dimitar Dimitrov, Alex Ducas, Darnell Edge, Nikolay Grozev, Pavlin Ivanov, Javante McCoy, David Okwera, Ivan Spirov, Aleksandar Stoimenov, and Konstantin Toshkov.
These roster changes underline the intense preparation dynamic as the opening tip-off approaches. Venice is set to open their campaign at home, hosting the Skyliners at the Palasport Taliercio on September 29. The following day, Balkan Botevgrad will face a tough road test for their first-ever EuroCup outing when they visit ratiopharm Ulm.
