London Lions’ forward-center Thomas Kennedy has been named the 2026–27 BKT EuroCup Regular Season Round 2 Most Valuable Player.
Euroleague Basketball confirmed the honor on Thursday.
Per the press release: “Thomas Kennedy kept the London Lions roaring in Round 2 of the BKT EuroCup. The big man was nearly flawless in an 89-77 win over La Laguna Tenerife, one of the standout results of the week, and his PIR of 34 was the highest by any player on a winning team.
Kennedy scored 26 points on 12-of-13 two-point shooting and added 8 rebounds and 2 assists. He is the first London player to earn MVP of the Round honors in three years, since Matt Morgan in Round 2 of the 2023-24 season.
Tony Perkins of Riga Zelli posted the top PIR of the round, a 39, though it came in a narrow 87-86 road loss to Rostock Seawolves. Perkins scored 35 points, the most by any player in a EuroCup game this season, and his 6 steals tied the season high.
Marko Simonovic followed with a career-best PIR of 33 as Roma Basketball beat Lietkabelis Panevezys 92-87. The center had 21 points and 7 rebounds.
Timmy Allen also reached the 30s, posting a PIR of 30 to go with his 30 points as Kids&Us Manresa beat ratiopharm ulm 101-89.
Rounding out the top performers were Justin Gorham, who led Baglietto Derthona Tortona past Le Mans Sarthe Basket, and Javonte Smart, who helped U-BT Cluj-Napoca beat Umana Reyer Venice. Both finished with PIRs of 29.
Individual highs: Tony Perkins, Riga Zelli, 35 points
Perkins led all scorers with 35 points, with Allen next on 30. Perkins is tied with PAOK Thessaloniki’s Cedi Osman and Dolomiti Energia Trento’s Quincy Olivari for the EuroCup scoring lead at 20.0 points per game.
Owen Klassen of Rostock and Reggie Perry of BOSNA BH Telecom Sarajevo shared the rebounding lead with 12 boards apiece. Klassen is tied for third in the competition at 9.0 rebounds per game, while Aris Thessaloniki’s Jeremiah Robinson-Earl leads at 11.0.
Marco Spissu handed out a round-high 11 assists in Napoli Basketball’s 75-93 road win over Buducnost VOLI Podgorica, moving into a tie for second in the EuroCup at 7.0 assists per game. Aaron Holiday of Roma leads the competition at 7.5.
Dogus Ozdemiroglu of Turk Telekom Ankara and Perkins shared the steals lead with 6 apiece, while Holiday added 5. Ozdemiroglu leads the EuroCup at 4.0 steals per game, with Perkins and Holiday tied for second at 3.0.
Ismael Bako of Turk Telekom, Terrell Carter, Jamuni McNeace of Tofas Bursa and Nick Ongenda of Manresa each blocked a round-high 3 shots. Carter has now done it in both games this season and leads the EuroCup at 3.0 blocks per game.
Four players recorded double-doubles in Round 2: Klassen (14 points, 12 rebounds), Perry (12 points, 12 rebounds), Robinson-Earl (11 points, 10 rebounds) and Roman Bedime of Skyliners Frankfurt (11 points, 11 rebounds).”
