New York Knicks guard Josh Hart has confirmed ongoing discussions with Napoli management and his involvement with the Italian club. An NBA champion in 2026, the 31-year-old guard fell short of revealing concrete details. However, this connection has drawn considerable attention over recent weeks.
“I have visited Naples and the Amalfi Coast several times,” Hart shared with journalist Valeria Rubino after a game against the Brooklyn Nets at Madison Square Garden on Monday, expressing his fondness for the Southern Italian region. “It’s a fantastic place, you always learn so much about their culture.”
The ownership group already boasts serious star power, having previously brought on NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal to elevate the team’s international profile. Confirming ties to the team based in Naples, Hart discussed his alignment with club president Matt Rizzetta.
“I got a bit more involved with the team,” he explained how his relationship with the organization advanced over the summer. “I didn’t want to talk about it. Matt will do so when everything is finalized and set.”
“Maybe we’ll talk about it together. But for now, I can say that I follow with affection what they are doing, the progress of the team, the new arena, there are many important things ahead and I’m excited about it,” he added on the prospective partnership.
Early in the 2026–27 season, Napoli sits tied for first place in Italy’s Serie A Serie A Sisal Club with a 5–1 record. On the continental stage, they are enjoying a flawless 5–0 start in Group C of the BKT EuroCup Regular Season. Meanwhile, management is actively positioning the club for inclusion in the premier EuroLeague competition, a transition that hinges on new arena infrastructure.
