Lietuvos Rytas grabbed its second victory in the Eurocup Top 16 by defeating Nizhny Novgorod 99 – 73 in Vilnius. The Lithuanian squad is now tied at the second place of Group G with a 2 – 2 record while Nizhny is at the bottom with 1 – 3.
The match was a monologue for the hosts who dominated from start to finish, save perhaps from the third quarter. Nizhny had recovered a bit from the 51 – 36 halftime deficit entering the fourth period down by 71 – 61. But Rytas was blazing on offense completing the game in a manner that was way too strong for their opponents.
Laimonas Kisielius dropped 24 points with 4/5 from downtown for the winning squad while Drew Gordon registered a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds. David Logan and Corey Fisher scored 14 points each.
For Nizhny, Pietr Gubanov had 17 points and Kenneth Brown with DeAndre Kane added 14 apiece.
