In theory the match-up between Bayern Munich and Unicaja Malaga could provide interesting duels, but this was not the case in their first game for the 7Days Eurocup quarterfinals.

The team of coach Alexander Djordjevic kept its distance for most of the game on the way to a 91-82 win. Maik Zirbes with 15 points led a balanced offense against the Spaniards who finished the game with 15 turnovers.

After leading by three at the end of the first quarter (21-18), Bayern got an 11 points advantage (38-27) and despite the fact that Unicaja trailed by six at half time (42-36), there was no turning back. At the end of the third period the score was 66-56 for Bayern which started the last quarter with a 7-2 run (73-58). Unicaja managed to cut the lead to five (81-76) with three minutes left, however they guests couldn’t get any closer.

Reggie Redding scored 13 points without missing a shot for Bayern and Devin Booker added 12 and a crucial goal foul (86-78) one minute before the end of the game. Dejan Musli with 16 points tried his best for Unicaja but it was not enough. He also had 5 turnovers. Jeff Brooks scored 14 points, while Jamar Smith and Carlos Suarez had 12 each for the guests.
