Valencia grabbed its first quarterfinals win against Khimki Moscow with 88-82.

Fernando San Emeterio was Pedro Martinez’s team hero, with 17 points and 8 rebounds, Sam Van Rossom and Bojan Dubljevic scored 11 points each, while the latter also grabbed 11 rebounds.

Alexey Shved’s 23-point performance wasn’t enough to save the visiting team in the end.

The hosts were dominant in the second period, with San Emeterio and Van Rossom pacing the team, that led 59-42 at halftime. The Russians were fighting to cover a double-digit deficit, though it was impossible in the third period, with the score being 72-62 after 30 minutes.

Still, the visitors trimmed to 4 points at 35′, 77-73 and the margin was even more narrow with 2 minutes to go, 82-80. Still, San Emeterio was there to save the day for the hosts!
