Hammink (2.00 meters, 23 years old) will start his professional basketball career in Bilbao. He just finished his college career at Valparaiso University (NCAA). Hammink averaged 15.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 32 NCAA games last season. Hammink has also been a member of the Dutch national team. His father, Geert Hammink, had a long career in the NBA, Greece and Germany, and played the then-called ULEB Cup with RheinEnergie Cologne, averaging 13 points and nine rebounds in 24 games over two seasons. “Shane Hammink is a versatile, left-handed backcourt player, with a very different profiles. He is very athletic and his ballhandling allows him to play as point forward,” Bilbao sports director Raul Lopez said. “He has elite basketball in his DNA.” Bilbao keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2019-20 season.

Parente (1.88 meters, 33 years old) averaged 2 points in 13 Italian League games with Turin last season. He has played in his home country Italy throughout his entire career, during which he has worn the colors of Amatori Pescara, Popolare Ragusa, Edimes Pavia, Ventaglio Vigevano, Santini Fidenza, Aironi Castelletto, Montecatini, Recatani, Arca Impressa Lucca, Mens Sana 1871 Siena and NPC Rieti. He helped Siena win the Italian third division title in 2015 and has been a member of the Italian U20 national team.
