The related announcement by EuroCupBasketball is as follows:

Herbalife Gran Canaria Las Palmas strengthened its lineup by signing center Ondrej Balvin over the weekend. The contract is a one-year deal, with an option for the 2018-19 season. Balvin (2.17 meters, 24 years old) split last season between FC Bayern Munich in Germany and Estudiantes in Spain. He posted 3.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 11 7DAYS EuroCup games with Bayern before moving to Estudiantes and posting 6.8 points and 6.6 rebounds in eight Spanish League contests. Before that, Balvin played six seasons for Baloncesto Seville, where he played for the last six seasons, including in 2011 when they reached the EuroCup title game. With Seville, Balvin authored a 19-rebound game in Prague against CEZ Basketball Nymburk of his native Czech Republic, which stands as the third-best single-game rebounding effort in competition history. He has also played for USK Prague and been a member of the Czech national team.
