Lakovic has been a player/coach in the second team of Barcelona back in the 2015-16 season and also an assistant last year. He is also an assistant on the Slovenian national team.
As a player Lakovic spend most of his career between Panathinaikos and Barcelona, winning the 2010 EuroLeague title with the Spanish powerhouse.According to the press release of Bilbao: “With Jaka Lakovic onboard, we will have an icon of the European basket world on our bench. He arrives in Bilbao with great desire to grow as a coach in our club and completes a magnificent coaching team with Carles Duran at the top”.
