Bayern Munich grabbed an impressive 86 – 69 victory over Galatasaray in Istanbul thanks to a beautiful and team-oriented offensive effort.

Sasa Djordjevic was happy to see his players finishing the match with 31 assists, tying the third top single-game performance by a team in the history of the competition.

Stefan Jovic dished out 11 of these dimes while fellow Serbians Vladimir Lucic (14 points) and Milan Macvan (12 points) delivered buckets. Braydon Hobbs also had 14 for Bayern.

For the hosts that returned to the competition they won in 2016 with a disappointing manner, Scotty Hopson scored 19 and Dwight Hardy 18 points.

Earlier, 38-year-old veteran Kristof Lavrinovic had an “oldie but goldie” display of 20 points plus 8 rebounds as Lietkabelis beat contender Hapoel Jerusalem 86 – 72.

Curtis Jerrells’ 23 points plus 6 assists didn’t cut it for the Israelis.

In Podgorica, Buducnost outplayed Reggio Emilia 82 – 74 thanks to a powerful performance down the stretch.

The Montenegrins bested their opponents 25 – 13 in the fourth period and prevailed behind Kyle Gibson’s 16 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds as well as Nikola Ivanovic’s 15 points.

Only Amedeo Della Valle (18 points) scored in double figures for the Italian team in its return to EuroCup.
