Alba blows out Partizan on the road

Alba Berlin got its fifth win of the season improving its record to 5-1 while Partizan Belgrade fell to 1-5 in Group C of the 7Days Eurocup competition.

On Day 6 of the 7Days Eurocup, Partizan NIS Belgrade faced off against Alba Berlin for Group C. Alba defeated Belgrade’s team with 80-96. 

Turning point: The Berlin side increased its 14-point lead in the second half, with a 5-14 run and made it a 23-point game (45-68) in the mid-third quarter. Their offense was clicking on all cylinders. In the fourth quarter, Partizan tried to come back but the comeback fell short and the visitors got their fifth win of the season.

Both teams came out aggressively, challenging each other by playing tough defense, but also by making tough shots. The first quarter ended 19-21 in favor of Alba. In the second quarter, however, the German side was on another level, and with Marius Grigonis leading the way to a 14-point lead at the half (40-54).

The star: Spencer Butterfield finished the game with 20 points, while Marius Grigonis also added 20.
