Galatasaray Odeabank Istanbul, FC Bayern Munich, and Buducnost VOLI Podgorica all enjoyed wins on Day 7 of the 7Days Eurocup competition.
FC Bayern Munich remained undefeated (7-0) and already clinched the first place, with an impressive, tough 87-88 win over Lietkabelis Panevezys. In the first half, Bayern got a small lead but could not hold on. Moreover, throughout the 40 minutes, the game was challenging but in the last minute, Bayern got the one point victory with clutch shots and important free-throws down the stretch. Milan Macvan finished with 19 points and 6 rebounds.
Meanwhile, in Turkey, Galatasaray improved its record to 2-5 with an 82-72 win over Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia. Even though coach Erman’s team was struggling in these first games, it managed to defeat the Italian team and get this important win that keeps the team ‘alive’. The first half was competitive as it ended 32-29. The game remained close in the third quarter as both teams needed the victory. Finally, in the fourth quarter, ‘Galata’ increased its lead (72-63) and got the win. Dwight Hardy finished with 20 points, while Alex Renfroe flirted with a triple-double: 10 points, 10 assists, 8 rebounds.
Finally, Buducnost defeated 92-75 Hapoel Bank Yahav Jerusalem at home to improve its record to 4-3 and hold the second position in the Group B standings. In the first 30 minutes of the contest, the game was close (62-60). Gibson and Dyson were going at it, scoring in a variety of ways, but since that point the home team took it up a notch, going on a 13-0 (!) run and increasing this lead to double-digits (75-60). Hapoel could not respond and so Buducnost came out on top. Petar Popovich finished with 20 points.
