Following Saturday’s Lithuanian League 88 – 74 defeat to Vytautas, Lietkabelis announced that it has decided to part ways with head coach Arturs Stalbergs.

“We thank Arturs for his work but the team has played bad recently and we decided to make changes,” Lietkabelis Sports Director Mantas Ignatavicius said.

The loss by Vytautas was Lietkabelis’ fifth in a row (including also EuroCup games).

Stalbergs made headlines last week after poking fun at the news regarding an offer that Lietkabelis received to sign LiAngelo and LaMelo Ball, who are in search of a club overseas.

The Latvian coach wrote “We have openings at the security staff” on his Twitter, only to delete his tweet some hours later.
