Last night’s comeback victory of Bayern Munich over Zenit St. Petersburg was certainly impressive but also a Pyrrhic one.
The German team saw Milan Macvan exiting the game late in the third period after getting injured. Today’s results showed that the Serbian forward suffered a cruciate ligament rupture and will thus miss the remainder of the season.
Macvan, 28, has been averaging 11.4 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game in EuroCup where Bayern Munich competes with aspirations that go as far as winning the title. Each season’s EuroCup champion gets a ticket to the next season’s EuroLeague.
