Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar beat Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia 82-65  in Game 1 of the 7Days EuroCup Semifinals.

Brian Qvale led the victors with 16 points, while Frank Elegar added 11 points and 9 rebounds. On the other side, Jalen Reynolds recorded 13 points, nine rebounds, and four blocks. Chris Wright added 14 points.

The game started balanced and neither side could build a significant advantage. With 15 minutes played the score was tied at 23. And that’s when Lokomotiv ‘took off’. Thanks to a 20-5 run in those five minutes they went on the break with a 43-28 lead.

It would have been even worse for the Italian side if not for Reynolds, who scored nine points and had three blocks, all of those against Joe Ragland, stopping him from scoring any field goals in the first half.

The halftime lead was enough for the hosts as they had no trouble keeping it throughout the second half.

Game 2 will be played on Friday, 23 of March, in the Reggio Emilia’s PalaBigi arena.
