Brady Heslip is officially a Fraport Skyliners player. The talks between the Canadian guard and the German club led to a 1+1 deal between the two sides.

Per EuroCup Basketball:

Fraport Skyliners Frankfurt added a top-notch perimeter threat by signing guard Brady Heslip for one season with an option for a second. Heslip (1.88 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Trabzonspor, for which he averaged 16.0 points and 2.3 assists per game in the Turkish League least season. He has had great success in the D-League; he won the championship with the Raptors 905 franchise in 2017 and set the competition’s single-game record for three-pointers with 13 for Reno in December 2014. Heslip made his European debut with Igokea in Bosnia in 2015 and helped that team win the Bosnian League and Cup double. He also played one season in Italy for Cantu.

“I am very excited and looking forward to the season,” Heslip said. “I know the Canadians who played in Frankfurt. They all told me positive things about the club, the city and the fans. They all loved playing here. I am very curious about Germany, the league and the EuroCup. I’ve known Coach Herbert for quite some time and worked with him at the start of the year with the Canadian national team. He is a great coach and I’m really looking forward to playing for him for a whole season. I want to show the fans that I am a player with a lot of basketball intelligence who plays the right way. Winning is the most important thing for me and that’s exactly what I want to do in Frankfurt.”

“We’ve been interested in Brady for quite a while and have followed his career closely,” Coach Herbert said. “That’s why I’m especially happy that he will play for us. I think it’s a great starting point for both sides, because we wanted to get him and he wanted to play with us. He is an excellent shooter. In recent years, he has also worked very well on his skills in the pick-and-roll and his ball handling. He is thus a shooting guard who can also help out at the point guard position. He comes to us with good experience in Europe, but even more important is his experience in international competitions.”
