Coach Txus Vidorreta returned to Iberostar Tenerife, the team which won the first-ever Basketball Champions League campaign (2016-17) under his guidance, after an unsuccessful run with Valencia Basket last season.

From coach Vidoretta’s point of view, the main culprit for bad results was the club’s management, which wasn’t up to the task: “I didn’t expect to find so little quality in Valencia Basket regarding such important aspects of modern basketball as are recovery, diagnosis of injuries and nutrition.”, Vidoretta told Radio Marca Tenerife.

He believes his role was fulfilled to the maximum and he did everything that could be done: “I became a master at all levels in Valencia Basket. It was a very hard year but the work I did there makes me feel better every time. It was a good year considering the physical precariousness we faced. I took the challenge and I think I delivered.”
