Leonessa Brescia made history tonight (24/10) since they got the first victory in of the club in a continental competition by beating previously undefeated Crvena Zvezda 69 – 61 for Round 4 of the EuroCup regular season.

To achieve this win, Brescia had to bounce back from a pretty horrid start in the game since Red Star entered the match with a 2-24 (!) partial score in the first five minutes. The Italian team recovered in a timely fashion to close halftime up 39 – 38 and the two teams remained close until the final minutes. It was then that with the score 64 – 60, Brescia completed some strong defensive plays to prevent its opponents from becoming dangerous, thus sealing the win.

Gerald Beverly had 15 points and eight rebounds for Brescia while veteran David Moss added 11 points and five assists. Billy Baron stood out from Red Star with 22 points.

In Istanbul, Lazeric Jones’ basket with three seconds remaining lifted Monaco over Galatasaray 86 – 85. Jaka Klobucar who had put his team up with a 3-pointer for the 83 – 85 missed his game-winning attempt and the Turkish team dropped to 2-2.

Derek Needham led Monaco with 29 points and five assists. Aaron Harrison had 24 points and four dimes for Galatasaray.

With six players in double figures and Andrew Albicy registering a double-double (17 points, 11 assists) Andorra defeated Ratiopharm Ulm 103 – 95 at home. Ismet Akipnar scored 27 points for the German team.
