The situation in Cedevita after the decision to fire Sito Alonso remains critical with all the foreign members of the team still owed money

The decision of Cedevita to change the structure of the club and fire coach Sito Alonso was not the end of the crisis that plagues the Croatian champions.

According to Eurohoops sources, despite the announcement about the wealthy Atlantic group – the owners and main sponsors of the club – being more actively involved in the management, most of the team including Alonso, Magette and Augusto Lima, who have also left the team, have not received not even one penny yet or are more than one month late in payments.

Some are owed the salaries for two months and the rest of the foreign players of the roster have recently received one salary. This fact has created an explosive situation in the locker rooms which is also a factor on the team’s bad results.

Meanwhile, Alonso is still in Zagreb, negotiating a settlement with Cedevita, since he had signed a guaranteed contract for two seasons with an option for a third one.
