Jock Landale posted a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds for a game-high 26 PIR, leading Partizan Belgrade to a 78 – 75 road win over ASVEL Villeurbanne in a do-or-die match for the Serbian team in Round 9 of the EuroCup regular season.

This result keeps Partizan’s Top 16 hopes alive since the team is now 3-6. They are now expecting a Turk Telekom win vs. Dolomiti Energia Trento to see if they will fight for the qualification in Round 10.

ASVEL dropped to 6 – 3 and the second place, following Valencia‘s 97 – 89 victory over Zenit St. Petersburg.

Partizan went up by seven points, 69 – 76 with  70 seconds remaining thanks to three buckets in a row by Landale. Yet intense pressure by the hosts allowed them quick points and with 17 seconds left, Miro Bilan, ASVEL’s top scorer with 17 (plus seven boards) made it 75 – 76 from the line after Landale went 0/2.

Vanja Marinkovic then made his own pair of free throws and on the other end, Mantas Kalnietis’ game-tying attempt went off target.

Marcus Paige added 15 points and six assists for Partizan while Aleksej Nikolic scored 15. Kalnietis had 10 points, seven assists and a team-high 20 PIR for ASVEL.
