ASVEL Villeurbanne captured its first victory ever in the EuroCup quarterfinals by beating Morabanc Andorra 79 – 75 at home behind a game-high 21 points plus four rebounds by team captain Charles Kahudi.

Kahudi also grabbed a key offensive rebound and then sent a pass to David Lighty (13 points, six rebounds) who scored the basket for the 79 – 75 with eleven seconds remaining to help his team make the 1-0 in the best-of-three series.

Andorra, that had a 10-point lead 34 – 44 at the beginning of the first half, had made it a one-possession game after falling behind by seven but didn’t go closer than that.

Moussa Diagne had 16 points and 10 rebounds for Andorra that is now 0-1 and host the next game.
