As he is getting ready for the NBA draft, Kristaps Porzingis of Baloncesto Seville is also the winner of the 2014-15 Eurocup Rising Star Trophy. The 19-year-old Latvian big man was used as a bench player, however while averaging less than 21 minutes per night, he led his team in scoring (11.6 ppg.) and index rating (13.1), while adding 4.1 rebounds and a team-best 1.2 blocks. He also shot 45.9% from the three point line.
Porzingis joins a list of Eurocup rising star winners, which also includes Victor Claver, Milan Macvan, Donatas Motiejunas, Jonas Valanciunas and Bojan Dubljevic, players who have all been drafted, played in the NBA or end up being starters.
