Jaime Fernandez and Unicaja Malaga had two more seasons left on their deal but agreed on a contract extension for an additional season which will end in the summer of 2022, the club announced.
The 26-year-old missed a month and a half of action due to injury but nonetheless had a good season overall. Fernandez averaged 12 points, 4.6 assists and 2.6 rebounds over 15 7DAYS EuroCup games while in the Spanish League, he posted 11.6 points, 4.4 assists and 2.6 rebounds per game.
Fernandez has also been named the Spanish League Player of the Round twice (8, 19) and was selected in the All-ACB Second team.
