Unicaja Malaga signed Francisco Alonso to a two-year contract with an option for a third season and loaned him to Montakit Fuenlabrada for the 2019-20 season. Unicaja announced the signing and the loaning on Friday, Fuenlabrada confirmed Alonso’s addition.
The 23-year-old Spaniard guard is coming off four NCAA campaigns with UNC Greensboro. The Malaga-born player who went through Unicaja’s youth team before moving to USA marked his 2018-19 campaign with 17.6 points, 2.5 assists, 2.3 rebounds and 1 steal per contest.
“This is a dream I had since I was a child” Alonso confessed upon signing and added: “I am more mature as a person knowing all the work I have put in. I have received this opportunity as a reward for all my work.”
