Partizan Belgrade Ostoja Mihaklovic commented on the recent arrest of his team’s forward Rashawn Thomas.

Thomas was arrested on felony drug charges and was later released after paying a bail of 32,000. Mihajlovic said the American forward is free to play with the team and mentioned that there will be a special clause on the contract that will allow the club to part ways with the player if anything “compromising” happens.

Here’s what Mihajlovic said to Serbian outlet Blic about Thomas.

“As for the current situation around Thomas, we have had some discussions with his attorneys. The information we received from them is that Thomas was driving a car that contained a person who committed the offense. Thomas paid a misdemeanor sentence and today is a free citizen who can travel and work anywhere. Notwithstanding, in accordance with our processes and rules, we will sign an annex to the contract, that if any compromising thing happens, and while the player is under the contract, Partizan will have an exit clause from the contract without any consequences to the club. We believe that Thomas was in the wrong place at the wrong time. We also believe that he will justify the honor of wearing the Partizan jersey with his efforts on the floor.”
