Alex Poythress reportedly inking with Galatasaray

Former Kentucky standout, Alex Poythress is set for jump to Europe.

Alex Poythress will sign with Galatasaray Doga Sigorta for the remainder of the 2019-20 season, according to beIN SPORTS. His first European trip will bring him to 7DAYS EuroCup and Turkey’s Super Ligi.

The 26-year-old American forward has played 52 NBA games between the Indiana Pacers, the Atlanta Hawks and the Philadelphia 76ers. He started the current season in China with CBA’s Jilin Northeast Tigers.

Poythress’s arrival coincides with the departure of Ben Moore. The 24-year-old American forward will make his way back to the G League to be close to his family after the passing of his father.

Galatasaray is currently 5-3 in EuroCup’s Group D, has already sealed a Top 16 ticket. In the Turkish league carries a 6-3 W-L record.
