Khimki Moscow has been one win behind in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoff race while no the other hand, they are dominating in the VTB League. One of their additions last summer, Jonas Jerebko, believed in the team he was signing for and after roughly half of the season, he believes in his teammates even more:

“I wouldn’t have signed here if I didn’t believe in the team and our roster. Before I signed I didn’t know all the players, but I have seen the roster and after playing with these guys for a few months, I believe it even more. We do have the talent, so we just have to put it together on the court. I think we are getting better and better every month that goes by. Hopefully, we can be our best when playoffs and all that come around.” Jerebko told Eurohoops.

Khimki’s main rival is CSKA and Jerebko had a chance to get coached by Dimitris Itoudis in the NBA Summer League with the Detroit Pistons. He thinks it’s quite fun to face him now and he values European rivalries in general: “It’s actually fun. Since I knew him from my Detroit years and just seeing him head coach at CSKA, it’s just fun. Rivalries are fun. Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, CSKA and Khimki, Barcelona and Real Madrid, all these rivalries. I just think it’s a lot of fun. Just to be part of it and watching it. It’s a lot of basketball emotions.”

Take a look at Eurohoops’ full interview with Jonas Jerebko as he also talks about the NBA Finals vs. the Raptors, his pick for this season’s NBA champions, his transition to Europe as well as the future of e-sports and his own e-sport team:
