Former NBA All-Star center Amar’e Stoudemire addressed the reports about Maccabi Tel Aviv reportedly considering to acquire him . Stoudemire has been a free agent after leaving Chinese team Fujian Sturgeons in December.

“No official offer from Maccabi Tel Aviv yet. My connection to Hapoel Jerusalem won’t be a problem, that’s business,” Stoudemire told Roi Cohen of Sport 5. The 37-year-old American big man is a major shareholder of Hapoel since 2013 and had stints with the team as a player in 2016 – 2017 and 2018-2019.

Maccabi has been looking to add players with an Israeli passport and cover some of the vacancies created on the team roster due to an injury outbreak. Forward Omri Casspi, center Tarik Black, guard Nate Wolters, guard John DiBartolomeo and wing Yovel Zoosman are out for the “Yellows.”
