The “Reds” are exploring possible signing options.

Olympiacos Piraeus coach Giorgos Bartzokas said that the club may be signing a player if someone who is considered able to improve the “Reds” is found available in the transfer market.

“Since two American players [Will Cherry, Willie Reed] left before I arrived [at the team], the presidents are in agreement that if there’s something that will make us a better team, we’ll look into it,” Bartzokas said during his team’s departure for Russia ahead of the EuroLeague game against Zenit St. Petersburg Thursday (23/1).

“It’s not necessary that there is something like that this moment. Good players are under contract right now and that’s an issue. We are looking at the market and if there’s something, we’ll make a move. If there’s not, then we won’t,” Bartzokas added.

There are vacant positions at the point guard and center positions on the roster of Olympiacos following the departures of Cherry and Reed earlier in January.

Olympiacos is currently 8-12 and tied with Fenerbahce Beko at the 11th spot in the standings. The Greek team comes off a win over Bayern Munich in the second game under Bartzokas since his return.
