Shane Larkin costs 4.07 in the EuroLeague Fantasy market. That’s more than anyone else. In fact, that’s nearly as much as the price of… the whole team. But here’s the deal: We’re talking about the guy who has won MVP of the Week for four weeks in a row. And we don’t think he’s in any mood to relax.
He’s by far the top player this season in EuroLeague. A guard that doesn’t “belong” in EuroLeague. Efes basically “stole” him from the NBA. We’ve been enjoying him and now we’ll add him in Eurohoops’ Fantasy team.
You may argue that it’s a bit “too late” to acquire him since his price has skyrocketed and he costs a lot for many players. You may be right. But it’s worth to give everything to get him. We did and we immediately appointed him captain of our team. So every point he brings counts as double.
Overall, it’s good to scan the market in Fantasy and find the so-called “bargains” that are cheap and can give you the opportunity to acquire “whales” such as Larkin.
Nihad Djedovic’s low price
Here’s an example: Bayern Munich guard Nihad Djedovic (Crvena Zvezda guard Kevin Punter is another option). Since his return from injury, he has reclaimed his role and form and just recently, he posted 20 PIR in the win of his team over Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Djedovic costs just 0.54 and we believe he’s a great option to use in order to acquire Larkin. And, who knows? It’s possible that at such a low price, he’ll give us as much as Nando De Colo who was left out of our team after a couple of mediocre – for his standards – games. Truth be told, we needed some extra “money” to invest in Larkin and we were torn between removing De Colo or Nick Calathes from our team.
When you spend so much, you know you won’t have a lot to fill your team. So, who can you buy with 0.22?
Here’s an option: Baskonia forward Achille Polonara. The experienced Italian player played almost 30 minutes in the win of his team over Khimki Moscow and registered 19 PIR. Not bad, right?
Given that he played 29 minutes in the ACB loss to Andorra, Polonara may spend a lot of time on the court vs. Olympiacos on the road as well and thus accumulate a solid number of PIR points.
P.S. If EuroLeague makes Semaj Christon available in Fantasy, then you should get him. Baskonia doesn’t have any other point guard since Pierria Henry, Luca Vildoza and Jayson Granger are all out.
