Anadolu Efes coach Ergin Ataman talked about guard Vasilije Micic being reported to be attracting the attention of NBA teams and the chances that his player may have to establish himself in the league.

The Ringer reported that NBA teams have been monitoring Micic. The Serbian guard’s NBA rights are owned by the Philadelphia 76ers who had selected him with the 52nd overall pick in the 2014 Draft.

“Vasha is a great person and a young player who has improved his game every game,” Ataman said in the post-game presser after the away win of Efes over Crvena Zvezda. “He took a high step last year with Efes and he’s continueing to play  good basketball this year also. If he takes a good contract in the NBA – because you know there are two types of contracts: One is the fake one: to go there to rest at the bench. [Shane] Larkin got many offers from the NBA last summer but he wants to me a main player in the NBA so he chose to stay with Efes. I believe that’s the same for Micic. If he goes there to be a main player, we’ll be happy.”

When Ataman was asked if Micic is able to do that, he simply replied “Yes.”

Micic , 26, had a breakthrough season with Efes in 2018-2019 when he averaged 12.4 points, 5.5 assists and 2.4 rebounds and helped the team reach the Final for the first time in the history of the club. He made the All-EuroLeague Second Team.
