The officials reacted to their colleagues getting attacked.

The referees of the EuroLeague game between Real Madrid and Panathinaikos held signs writing “STOP violence” before the match’s tip-off.

The three officials, Robert Lottermoser, Matej Boltauzer and Tomislav Hordov, sent the message in light of the recent attack against their colleagues that refereed the Panathinaikos Athens – Barcelona game in Greece Friday (21/2). The taxi carrying referees Luigi Lamonica, Damir Javor and Emir Mugolkoc back to their hotel after the match was attacked by unknown assailants.

Veteran official Lamonica was injured as a result and had to go to the hospital for treatment. The incident caused a strong reaction by EuroLeague players and the organization.
