The upcoming EuroLeague game between Olimpia Milano and Real Madrid will be held behind closed doors according to EuroLeague’s official announcement, as a means of protection for the coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

Real Madrid players reacted to the news of the game being played without fans and media in attendance through posts on their social media, including Edy Tavares, Rudy Fernandez and Trey Thompkins.

“I believe that the priority now is not the game, but our health and that of our relatives, and we can play the rest of the remaining games”, wrote Tavares.

Thompkins also tweeted his concern, suggesting the game could be played outside Italy. “Why can’t we just play on a neutral site..? This virus is serious.. so let’s treat it like it is please”, he mentioned.

Fernandez finally made a post on his instagram account, commenting that the first concern should be taking care of players’ and players’ families’ health.
