Joel Bolomboy signs a new contract with CSKA Moscow up to the end of the 2021-22 season.

CSKA Moscow and Joel Bolomboy renewed their contract, the Russian club announced on Monday. The 26-year-old big committed for a couple more seasons up to the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.

“I’m extremely excited to remain in the CSKA family!” he mentioned, “It’s a blessing and an honor to continue my career here. I have grown as a player and person since day 1 and am excited to be able to continue that.”

The former Weber State standout is moving through his second with the Russian outlet. Before joining CSKA and obtaining Russian citizenship played in 18 NBA games between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Utah Jazz, he also had several G League stints.

In 95 games under the guidance of Dimitris Itoudis has averaged 5.6 points, 3.4 rebounds and 0.4 blocked shots in 14.9 minutes. This year packs 5.7 points per EuroLeague appearance and 8.1 per VTB United League match.

“His development is evident and we are looking forward to much more as he has a lot of space to improve,” pointed out Itoudis, “Everybody in the club is happy with him, so we continue our collaboration and we hope to have much more success altogether.”

CSKA sits fifth in the EuroLeague standings with a 17-9 W-L tally. As for VTB, holds second place with a 14-4 run so far.
