The game between Khimki Moscow and Fenerbahce Beko was key for both teams in the race for the EuroLeague playoffs. In the end, Khimki didn’t simply beat the Turkish side but also won by a 14-point lead thus gaining a tiebreaker that may be proven to be of significance at the end of the regular season.

Fenerbahce failed to even defend the 13-point advantage from the first-leg win in Istanbul. Coach Zeljko Obradovic was reasonably disappointed, saying that just one of his players entered the game “ready to fight.”

“Congratulations for Khimki for an important victory,” Obradovic said. “This game was very important for both teams. The difference between the two teams, in my opinion, is that Khimki players really went out there on the court and wanted to play with big wish and to win the game. That’s it. In my team, there was only one player who was ready to fight, just one player tonight. This is not the way to play such an important game like we played tonight.”

Obradovic didn’t name a specific player in particular.

Fenerbahce is currently tied with Khimki Moscow at the seventh place of the standings with a 13 – 15 record.
