The sports action is on hiatus and everything is affected. Nobody can predict what the future of the whole planet will be after this crisis, however, Eurohoops asked from all the EuroLeague clubs to access the situation, touching the issues that have been already raised, the changes that may happen next season.

One of the first to answer the call was Crvena Zvezda‘s president Nebojsa Covic who explained how tough is the situation so far, not only for sports but for everyone. The priority is saving human lives, however, it’s also obvious that nothing will be the same in the near future.

Covic’s full answer on the issue is the following:

“It is practically impossible to give answers to all the questions you have asked. The situation, not only in Serbia but globally is extremely difficult and complex – now the priority is to preserve life everywhere. When the danger of the COVID-19 virus passes (and we don’t have any type of forecast for it), it is quite clear that as a consequence of this pandemic, both locally and globally, there will be a need for change in all segments of life, not just in sports!

It will strike first the economic, financial systems of the countries, and it will inevitably and evidently produce demands for some changes in sports.

And what is the biggest problem right now, the whole world is surprised – there are many unknowns when it comes to this pandemic and we don’t have answers to many questions.

However, we will be able to talk about all themes when the conditions are met when we all become safe against the COVID-19 virus.

Until then, I repeat the first, primary and only goal is to save lives, so I want to take this opportunity to wish good health to all players, club representatives, across Europe and world in these difficult times for all of us”.
