Ognjen Kuzmic talked about recovering from his severe injuries and personal troubles, per Sportski Zurnal.

“I have left all that behind me. I try not to retract but to use these experiences to my advantage,” he noted, “And now the coronavirus has stopped everything. It all comes down to the importance of our family,”

The 29-year-old center was involved in a car accident last summer and was placed under a medically induced coma. He returned, but the competitions suspended halted his comeback.

“Whatever goes through my mind and whatever my conclusions, I can’t turn back time,” he added, “It’s simple, you surrender or fight back. The hardest part is to return physically and then mentally.”

Powered by his family, Kuzmic recovered on his way to a 19-game run in Turkish Airlines EuroLeague with Crvena Zvezda mts. Averaged 3.9 points, and 3.5 rebounds per match.

“For every obstacle, I had the support of my loved ones and those who helped me prevail,” he furthered, “My family helped me stay focused. They can’t help me train. That’s up to yourself.”
