During the first season of coach Zeljko Obradovic in Panathinaikos the team went on to win the EuroLeague title in Thessaloniki. It was a great ride with Israeli Oded Kattash “killing” his former team, Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv in the final.

Panathinaikos got the 73-67 win, however, what everyone remembers is the scene in the Thessaloniki airport after the game with Maccabi fans celebrating Katash, despite their team losing the game.

Here’s the oral story of that night, as narrated by Fragkiskos Alvertis, Oded Kattash, and Giorgos Kalaitzis.
