Fenerbahce Beko head coach sat down with actor Darko Peric in the latest installment of Euroleague Basketball’s video series, TIME OUT. Falling in love with basketball, nickname origin, vast experiences abroad, extracting the most out of his players, admiring Phil Jackson, and movies to watch confined at home were among the conversation topics.

“I am a big fan of Phil Jackson. He had unbelievable results. He worked with top players, which isn’t always easy,” he said replying to a question on Phil Jackson, “I would really like to read his book but had no time up to now.”

“One person is not more important than the group,” he underlined referring to his teams through the years, “That is the whole point. You must first learn to lose and then to win.”

“I really enjoyed the opportunity to meet people from so many countries, spend time and make friends,” he mentioned looking back on his successful coaching career.

“I can’t remember the exact year, but the game I maybe watched the most in my life is the NCAA final between Villanova and Georgetown,” he took out suggesting one game to watch, “It was in the early ’80s. My relatives in Chicago sent were sending me VHS tapes.”
