Esteban Batista presented a productive season in the Euroleague, averaging 10.2 points and 5,5 rebounds in 22 minutes with Panathinaikos. The Uruguayan Center leaving the Greens and has a deal in place with Chongqing Soaring Dragons in order to play in the CBA League. The experienced player will move to China and his transfer is set to be announced soon.
He talked to Eurohoops about his days in Panathinaikos and how much connected he felt with his former team and the fans: “I’m in love with Greece! I really had a good time here. I make friends for life and my intention was to stay. The fans were also amazing But, I understand that. In the end of the day things can be different. For me it was a big honor to play in one of the best clubs in Europe. But like a I told, in the end of the day its sports life and business”.
