Mike James signed a new three-year contract with CSKA Moscow, the Russian club announced. The American former EuroLeague scoring king had joined CSKA in the 2019 offseason.

“I’m happy to be back in CSKA and continue our partnership for three more years. Hope it’s filled with championships,” James mentioned in a statement for CSKA’s website. The player also tweeted: “Happy to say I’m back at CSKA for 3 more years. Couldn’t be more humbled to be back at such an historic and amazing club.”

James, 29, led CSKA in scoring, assists and evaluation before EuroLeague shut down on March 12 by averaging 21.1 points (42% on 3-pointers), 4.3 assists plus 20.9 PIR. He also had 17.6 points (44% on 3-point shots), 4.4 assists and 2.4 rebounds in VTB League.

“We evaluated Mike’s performance and contribution to the team’s play during this season. I think it is mutual for both sides – him and coaches, managements, president, sponsors, that we want to continue here in CSKA. Mike found good environment of people, players and personnel, who he likes to work with. We are looking forward to next three years,” CSKA coach Dimitris Itoudis said.
