ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne announced Wednesday that Tony Parker’s brother, TJ Parker has been appointed as the team’s head coach, replacing Zvezdan Mitrovic, and will be joined by Frederic Fauthoux in the associate head coach position, following the NBA example.
ASVEL owner Tony Parker broke the news earlier this week, supporting his brother in this new step. “I believe TJ is ready. The timing is correct”, said Parker in a recent interview.
Fauthoux, the club’s new associate coach, arrives from Metropolitans 92, where he spent the previous five seasons, starting off as an assistant next to head coach Antoine Rigaudeau and eventually taking over when the latter left the team in December 2015.
