Real Madrid has reached a deal with Cleveland Cavaliers center Ante Zizic according to Chema De Lucas. Eurohoops sources have confirmed Real Madrid‘s interest to acquire the Croatian big man and bring him back to Europe for the first time since 2017. However, nobody involved in the talks confirms a deal at this point.

After being eliminated in the Spanish League’s final phase, Real was reported to be considering parting ways with center Jordan Mickey. Mickey’s departure from the team will leave a vacant position in the frontline that Zizic can fill.

Zizic, 23, is becoming a free agent since the Cavaliers have declined the 2020-2021 option on the contract the player signed in 2017. Maccabi Tel Aviv was previously reported to be ready to make a move for Zizic if the player chose to return to Europe.

In his last season in EuroLeague, Zizic averaged 9.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 21:51 minutes over 20 games with Darussafaka. He had a couple of standout performances in the 2017 playoffs vs. Real Madrid when he posted 12.0 points plus 6.3 rebounds in 21:43 minutes.

Zizic was also named as a potential target of Maccabi Tel Aviv, which is also expected to be on the market for a big man.
