Baskonia activated the 2020-2021 option on forward Achille Polonara’s contract, the Spanish club announced. Polonara had signed a 1+1 contract with the team in 2019.
Polonara was a key presence in Baskonia winning the 2020 Spanish ACB League championship title, averaging 8.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 11.2 PIR in the Final Phase of the competition. The Italian player was also the one who sent a tough assist to Luca Vildoza for the game-winner in the championship game vs. Barcelona.
Baskonia is expected to soon announce the acquisition of former Alba Berlin forward Rokas Giedraitis. Alba coach Aito Reneses has confirmed that the player will be joining Baskonia.
